How consent is obtained

The user texts us first. That message is the opt-in. There is no signup form, no web form, no purchased list, and no other way to enter the service. A person becomes a user of this service only by sending a text message to (877) 514-3754 of their own accord.

We reply once to that message and then stop. We never initiate a conversation, and we have no mechanism capable of doing so.

Message flow — the entire service

A user texts a motor carrier (MC) number. We look it up against public FMCSA registration data and the federal broker suspension list, and reply with what we find. One message in, one message out.

Independent owner-operator truck drivers. Freight brokerage fraud — where someone impersonates a licensed broker using a stolen or dormant authority — costs carriers hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Verifying a broker against FMCSA records takes five to ten minutes at a desk, which is not something a driver can do while a load is being booked. This service does that check in about a second by text.

Data handling

Phone numbers are stored only as one-way salted hashes, so repeat usage can be counted without retaining anyone’s number. We retain the MC numbers looked up and the results returned. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties.

Data source and disclaimer

Company name, operating authority, and bond information come from FMCSA’s public QCMobile API. Suspension data comes from the FMCSA Motus RevokeSuspend dataset, refreshed daily. This is a screening tool, not legal or financial advice.
